Where to Go from Influencers In the Know

ALL ABOUT @a_couple_fatties

Name: Jayme Sweeney and Gregory Simone
Account: @a_couple_fatties
When and why you started blogging under your current handle:
We are a couple known as A COUPLE FATTIES. Being so close to the city has let us experience all the different cuisines and the great food scene Boston has to offer. We started this together in October 2017. Our passion for food, cooking, sharing great places and unique items with our friends and family is what made us create our instagram. Since then we have grown a great following that has trust in our recommendations and continues to grow daily. We always find ourselves traveling anywhere and everywhere for the newest and most popular things to do and dishes to eat. We chose this name because we are a couple who loves food and loves finding the fattiest/ cheat day dishes. Plus we are really into using food puns on our page so we figured we would go with a name that was also a pun!

TOP PICKS

Three seems to be the best number, so what are your top three for the following categories, and feel free to give some insights:
Top 3 Things You Have Ever Eaten:

Truffleist burger from the Truffleist in NYC! The most decadent burger we have ever seen or had in our life. It is a pop up that comes around seasonally at one of their food markets at Madison Square Park of the holiday market at Bryant Park. They limit it to only 20 per day so you want to be there early. It’s on the expensive side going for $32 but worth the money without a doubt. It comes with two 4oz black angus patties, Fried burrata ball, Fresh shaved black truffles, truffle mayo, melted mozzarella, caramelized onions and cheese sauce on a toasted prosciutto bun. We drove 4 hrs to NYC just to get this!
Tempura Fried Lobster from Zuma Boston. This dish is off a secret menu. The presentation on this is amazing and the flavor is right there with it. A full lobster cut down the middle and emptied. All the lobster meat removed and done tempura style and then they fill the lobster shell with the fried tempura lobster. This was some of the freshest lobster I’ve ever had. Served with chili ponzu sauce, wasabi sauce, and lime.
“The Nusr-Et special” steak from Nusr-Et steakhouse NYC. Everyone knows and loves saltbae. This dish and everything about this place is a great experience. It is not your typical dim quiet steakhouse vibe, it’s a very live and fun atmosphere. This dish is a sliced tenderloin cooked table side. They come and slice it onto a scorching plate then griddle it in boiling butter then lay on grilled bread for a dish and experience you’ll never forget. It’s dinner and a show. We are so excited there finally bringing one to Boston!

Top 3 Restaurants Inside Boston:
Zuma modern Japanese restaurant in the heart of Boston, in the back bay inspires informal dining with a Japanese izakaya concept giving it a very upscale feel with the freshest sushi and seafoods you will have in Boston, along with all the steaks off the robota grille giving a great charcoal fired taste! This place is amazing and a must try!
Ocean Prime located in Boston’s seaport district with a menu featuring the highest quality steaks, seafood, and hand crafted cocktails. This is our favorite high scale steak house in town. We love the 12oz bone in filet, Truffle Mac and cheese, the butter cake and they have her favorite cocktail of all, the Berries and Bubbles which comes out smoking with dry ice.
Nico Ristorante couldn’t leave out The North End! With us being Italian we find ourselves dining in the north end a lot and this spot has some of the best meatballs (outside of Mama’s meatballs.) With wine-fueled flames and locally sourced produce Nicos ristorante will never disappoint especially being part of the Verano Group everybody knows Nick Verano does his restaurants right.

Top 3 Restaurants Outside of Boston:
Rusty Can one of the best BBQ spots we’ve been to located in Byfield, MA. The pit masters start smoking at 1 AM so you know the meats melt in your mouth. This is beyond a must try if you haven’t already, don’t forget to check there daily chalkboard specials!
Flip The Bird in Beverly, MA. Who doesn’t love a perfectly fried chicken sandwich? This place keeps it simple with what they know and that’s chicken sandwiches! We recommend “THE OG” W/ Homemade buttermilk ranch and half sour pickles, add a hand cut French fry with truffle ketchup and a in-house Half sweet tea and Half lemonade. Without a doubt it will have you wanting to come back time and time again.
Hop and Grind in Peabody Ma. Chef Bobby Marchotte winner of Diners, Drive in’s and Dives and Guys grocery games tournament twice! This place is amazing and we’re regulars here! If you love craft beers on draught you need to check them out because their lists rotates daily. They have a great concept different from other restaurants we’ve seen. They are a completely scratch kitchen and they have a grind room that they make their (grind) patties in daily. Some of our recommendations would be “The Hog Marley” (Grind: pork, pulled pork, applewood bacon, bbq sauce, cheddar) all ground together to make the patties and topped with pulled pork, dry aged bacon, cheddar cheese, Bbq mustard, and scallions or “The BomB diggity” *steak bomb* (Grind: angus beef, peppers, onions, American + cheddar cheese) for the patties then topped with peppers, onions, mushrooms, plancha salami or check out their amazing Mac Bowls ! This place is literally amazing, everything will make your mouth water.

Top 3 Favorite Restaurant Pages to follow:
@elmstrertdiner in Stamford, CT! John’s creations are absolutely insane! This is the definition of doing it for the gram. He thinks of the most out of the box dishes that make us wish we lived closer because we would literally be regulars there! His dishes are amazing from his burgers and melts loaded with cheese, mozzarella sticks, french fries,Mac and cheese and more to their over the top WOW waffle tower’s that are absolutely loaded and stacked high with cakes, cookies, candy, ice cream, fudge filled syringes, peanut butter, Nutella and what ever else he can think of throwing on there. You will never find anything like it! If you go make sure to bring a lot of people to share with. Soon as you see their page you will say I need a picture of this!
@joes_rotisseria in New Jersey! This place has the most incredible twists on Pizza it’s unreal! From there half calzone pizzas with garlic knots to there ginormous pizza slices or Dorito crusted Stromboli. Follow them and you’ll say why hasn’t any one else thought of that and you’ll want to jump in the car for a road trip.
@milanosdelieastie in East Boston. The videos Vinny puts of his gigantic arancini’s and creative sandwiches literally makes us want to eat here everyday! The food they serve there is absolutely delicious from his loaded sandwiches to his garlic knot pizzas to his pasta dishes! We’ve never had a bad meal there. Go give him a follow and if you haven’t eaten there yet it’s a must!

They are amazing at capturing mouth watering videos that makes you want to devour more and more! If you don’t follow them you’re doing something wrong. On top of that they started a devour kitchen instagram where they do at home recipes and since we love to cook at home it is inspiring us to maybe make an at home recipe only instagram! In the mean time we incorporated our recipes onto our page check it out for some great recipe ideas.
@thenaughtyfork – We love to follow her account! She is always getting the most epic dishes out in Miami and our list of most of the places we want to go out there comes from her page. SUPERLATIVES

If someone asked you for a restaurant that would “Even Keep the Inlaws Happy” where would you suggest they go?
Our recommendations would be Maggiano’s Little Italy in Boston. Growing up in an Italian household we know how to eat and eat a lot. They offer a family style menu from their scratch kitchen that’s amazing and the dishes never stop flowing as they run out they just keep bringing more! It also has an old school feel to it which should definitely keep the in-laws happy!

What are your “bucket list” items/restaurants to try that you haven’t yet been to?
If you ever saw our list for this category its goes on for pages but we will narrow it down to some of the most epic things we need to get!
Lobby pop, lobster on cheese crisp taco, surf and turf burger, ok literally everything from @highrollerlobsterco in Portland Maine.
Pizza Stuffed Burrata from @thebedfordnyc
Garlic Knot Chicken Parm Sliders from @macchinanyc
Lobster Fra Diavolo from @thedailycatch in Boston
Caviar Truffle Lobster Roll from Rare Steakhouse at @encorebostonharbor
Carmelinas in The North End

If you were “going to the electric chair” What would your last meal be and from what restaurant?
Wow this is a tough one because there would be so many things we would want as our last meal (I mean come on we are acouplefatties! haha) But if we had to choose one meal I think we would have to say a Filet Mignon with a Lobster Tail, mashed potatoes and the Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella appetizer from @thecapitalgrille .
