The holy trinity of Football food are as follows, PIZZA, WINGS and BBQ!

Thanks to some great chefs who deicide to learn their craft then open shop in Massachusetts, we have some excellent spots to order top notch Q. I know we will hear from purest about the best and when and where it can be found, but no one is going to turn away any of these ten as not being worthy of enjoyment.

As always, these are personal favorites, and I always want to hear yours.

Kinfolks, Taunton

A personal favorite and their constant line tells you everyone comes back for more. If you ever go on a Saturday, make sure to be ready to wait, and yes, it is worth it.

Larry J’s BBQ Cafe – Boston

I have not been to his new location, but I am very familiar with his original spot in Revere. My best friend lived near by the original and was the one who introduced me to Larry J’s amazing menu.

Davis BBQ, Sterling

Another spot both my best friend and I love. It is actually right next to Davis Family Animal Farm, so we bring our daughters for the day and get to enjoy amazing Q at lunch time. (the kids still stick with chicken nuggets)

2 Jerks BBQ, Raynham

They offer so much more than just excellent BBQ, but it remains a solid anchor everyone gets hooked on once they try it.

bAckyard BBQ, Nantucket

One of the best surprises of my trip to Nantucket was bAckyard BBQ and their amazingly extensive whisky list. Another great restaurant that has a large menu with so much more. A must try is the Lobster Empanadas.

Firefly’s BBQ, Marlborough

A staple, and their huge catering business and excellent patio in the summer time speaks volumes of their success.

Blue Ribbon BBQ, Arlington

Don’t sleep on a local staple. Their ambiance and menu will make a believer out of you.

B.T’s Smokehouse – Sturbridge

When other restaurants advertise that they only use BT’s Bacon in their dishes, you know a BBQ spot is going to exceed expectations. Everyone knows BT’s.

The Smoke Shop BBQ – Cambridge

When Andy Husbands does BBQ, you get a restaurant producing BBQ with deep flavors. You also get classes on BBQ taught by the Chef himself, with class names like The Secrets of Fried Chicken, an Overnight Brisket Class, and Chicken & Wing Competition.

Rusty Can – Byfield

When you fan base is as vocal and enthusiastic about your BBQ as they are for the Rusty Can, you know you are doing BBQ right. A favorite of Merrimac Valley Eats founder, foodie Gerald Schiavoni.
